Licensed Professional Counselor
With a healthy balance of listening, guiding, and even learning, I focus on helping you overcome any obstacle and put you on the path to healing. In my therapy sessions, I will provide therapeutic support to help you overcome past trauma, resolve a current problem, or develop positive coping strategies for life’s difficulties. I see all clients as more than just another appointment; instead, my methods are built on compassion and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for every client.
I provide treatment for children using play therapy techniques, counsel couples looking to repair a broken marriage, and provide support for those dealing with anxiety and depression. I also use Trauma Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), to treat at-risk youth, such as foster and adopted children.
As a spouse of a military veteran, and a mother of two adopted children, I have firsthand knowledge of the stress of military life and the unique experiences of being a parent to two children with ADHD and Sensory issues. I also possess the knowledge to guide parents and children through the unique challenges that come with being a blended family.
I received a Bachelor’s of Science in psychology from Troy University and went on to obtain a Master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Montevallo. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, as well as a National Certified Counselor.
In addition to office visits, HIPAA compliant teletherapy appointments are also available.
